Just finished a series of B movie inspired posters commissioned by YDNA boardriders. Not my usual style but these black and white versions turned out pretty nice! Think they're gonna be tee's or something so will keep you posted...

Barnstaple:

Took a few cars to a new park Barnstaple the other day. Apparently it rained when they were setting the concrete there so the ground's a bit more slidy than usual but layout is real nice. Even incorporates a red brick quarter and fire hydrant. Above: Jack Stone - Back Smith

Private view:

Exhibition of UWE 3rd year graphics is now on. Had a private view last friday but exhibition goes on till the end of this week. Few samples of my work shown above.

Postcards:

Just picked up some postcards from the printers today. Series of bird illustrations inspired by cross-section books I had when I was young. Designed as a promotional item for my degree show on the 19th. Feel free to come along and take one!

Just finished this book about wordplay for my self directed study. 40 pages, saddle-stitched and perfect bound in a lonely edition of one.

Bentley woods:

Put together this book for my friend Chess this week. She is a pen and ink illustrator who produces short tales with surprising twists. I designed this small publication to showcase a sample of her work for degree show. See more at: http://chessillustration.blogspot.com/

Hype:

Had my head down for a while now writing a book about wordplay. Still needs a title but content is almost sorted. Sneek peek of some spreads below...

Brockley mile:

Helped my friend Liam today with his project on Brockley Combe Road Mile. The task involved walking the mile in both directions and documenting the experience however it felt necesarry.


I was then asked to produce two pieces in response to the journey. I decided to illustrate a couple of the notes I wrote as I walked the mile. Here's one about a truck I liked:

The project also involved collecting 4 objects from the journey. I chose:
- A crushed metal container
- A vodka bottle with a bit left
- A red bull can that stank
- The comic strip from a fruit winder

Printed this folding A1 poster the other day, displaying my own personal interpretation of British birdsong. Checked out the technical descriptions of these bird sounds too and apparently im not even close!

Just finished the small publication I have been working on about lyrical misinterpretations. - A3 folding posters produced in an edition of five.

Things I have done recently...

- Redrew a few things that needed redrawing
- Bought a Kodak instamatic 33 for a quid
- Had a birthday
- Worked in a bakery, museum, bar and gift shop
- Entered a 'design an easter egg' competition

- Found and photographed 6 more paint splats
- Skated slipway
- Tie died some tees...

Put my phonetic style type into use recently to make a photo album for a little dude called Josh.

Seagull...

This really hasn't got much to do with anything but I drew the cross-section of a seagull today. I'm pretty sure they're meant to have lungs and stuff but this way seemed better.
